HISTORY
Even from his earliest memories, Sawyer can recall his fervent desire for knighthood, to serve his country and his lords with his life. His parents, loyal Dentorian citizens situated in a province under the jurisdiction of House Franel, who loved their land and their lords, fully supported his ambition -- indeed, their smiles, full of pride and joy at their son's quick progression first from apprentice, to journeyman, then to a full fledged knight at the astonishing age of 17 have always shone brightly among his memories. He has excelled in the knighthood, and though he is one of House Franel's youngest knights, few challenge his right to the position.

His ability and charisma won over Franel's nobility, allowing him the prestige of serving as something of a personal guard to the young prince Kail. Sawyer takes this duty very seriously; though despite the formality with which he regards his charge, he and Kail have always been very good friends. Yet, though Sawyer is quite satisfied with his lot, he bears a secret in his innermost thoughts; there is no time that he can recall, during the entirety of his service, that he has not harbored feelings for his prince that, should they be discovered, might cost him all he has worked so hard to acheive...

Near the start of his seventeenth summer, Sawyer awoke in a strange land, far from home with no recollection of how he'd arrived. He was left with only his horse, weapons, and journal -- which he soon discovered had connected itself to an ancient, magically linked network, called the Channels by some, and simply the "Magic Journals" by others. Through this network he located Kail in a nearby town, and began the long journey to a home that everyone they met along the way insisted did not exist.

They picked up a large group along the way, the curious, the concerned, and many with nowhere better to go, and as the first to arrive in Franel of the three displaced heirs and their knights, Kail and Sawyer were the first subsequently to discover that none but they could see their abandoned home. Celeste and Keagan were the next to arrive, then Lawrence and Faith, each with company of their own, and each experiencing much the same upon their arrival. Confused and disheartened, but no less determined, Sawyer accompanied his lords and lady, as well as his fellow knights and their growing procession to the jungles of Megam, where they were to seek out a medium who had delivered to them a strange prophecy years prior on a pilgrammage to the Altar of Light.

They located the medium on Papan Island, an eccentric woman named Sister Ruth, who shockingly claimed to recall them quite well -- the first to remember them and their home since the start of their journey. She directed them to return to the places they had woken up in; thus instructed, they began the trek first back to Kanemoria, where Sawyer and Kail had first awoke.

Upon their arrival, Sawyer and Kail both were plagued with headaches and visions of an alternate world, seemingly parallel to their own. On the night of the Moon Festival, events culminated as they were transported fully to this alternate world for a short time, wandering within it after a man they discovered there to find an ancient scroll hidden beneath the house Kail had woken in the previous year. They then followed Kail to the city of Norey, where a catastrophic storm swept the young Lord miles away, to the mountains north of the city.

A small subset of their now quite sizable procession made the journey through the mountains to find him, Sawyer of course among them, plagued with fears and uncertainty concerning the situation and fate of his Lord. They located him within the mountain, along with an ancient artifact of unknown power that proved to have disastrous effects on Franel's heirs -- but strangely, not the knights, who vowed to keep the artifact safe among them.

Their tasks in Kanemoria presumably finished, they continued next to Atsiria and its capital of Razen, where they were caught up in a political plot, Lawrence and Faith accused of regicide and imprisoned, only to be freed weeks later by the enigmatic Prophet Melyndra and Karlesta, her apparent adopted daughter. They then headed to the town of Ilserna, where Lawrence first awoke, and then to Cleraine, the once-capital of Atsiria, where Melyndra promised they would find more answers.

Once in Cleraine, they were invited to stay in the Palace as honored guests of Lady Laeleena, the regal matriarch of House Atsir. Faith immediately began experiencing sharp, stabbing chest pains, while Lawrence found himself plagued with nightmares and irrational, overwhelming guilt. The members of House Atsir, except for Lady Laeleena herself, also began suffering from crippling delusions. This persisted in intervals for some months, culminating eventually in the form of a major earthquake, leveling a majority of the city to the ground and causing tens of thousands of casualties. Lady Laeleena's husband and children then began killing themselves as a result of their delusions driving them to desperation and madness, beginning with Lady Azshara's jump from her fifth floor balcony and ending with Lady Daerielle hanging herself the night before the Moon Festival.

On the Moon Festival proper, Lawrence and Faith once again underwent the effects of the Eclipse, disappearing into what to them appeared as another world. Sawyer followed closely behind Faith, who in her own vision was drawn toward a chasm emitting a strange light, while in reality she wandered the dungeons of the castle, ending at a cellar wall. Elsewhere in the Cleraine Palace, Lawrence's visions led him to combat with a dark spectre, while in reality, he fought Laeleena herself, murdering her with the help of The Prophet.

Soon following this, Melyndra hand-picked a subset of their sizeable group -- not including Sawyer, nor Kail, Celeste or Keagan besides -- and led them through the desert into the outskirts of Cleraine to some mysterious ends. Sawyer waited anxiously in the Palace for their return, and a month later, Lawrence wrote to inform them they had found a sword much like the one they had found in Kanemoria, before.

Their trials in Atsiria presumably finished, Sawyer now waits for Lawrence and the others' return, to regroup and determine their next destination.



PERSONALITY
A bright youth with a positive outlook on life, Sawyer is quite charismatic and naturally likeable. He is somewhat formal as is befitting of a proper knight, though his wit and sharp intellect are readily apparent despite his knightly demeanor. He is friendly and outgoing, always willing to talk with just about anyone -- he's not particularly hard to get along with. He highly values his status as a knight, but is hardly as stuffy or overbearing as knights often are. He works hard to please others, particularly seeking the approval of Lord Kail, and has a tendency to forget his own needs in his haste to assist his prince and others in need.



APPEARANCE
Sawyer is rather handsome in his own right; his smiles have been sought after by more than one giggling Dentorian girl. His hair is best classified as midway between brown and blonde; his eyes are bright green. He stands at roughly 6'0", with a slight build that belies his strength, honed by countless hours on the training field with his comrades in arms.
